Purpose:
The purpose of this task is to support the SYSMAN team, which provides enterprise services in a cutting edge Cyber environment.
Responsibilities:
The Systems Administrator (Proxy):  
  • Provides storage, backup, and recovery management support for APC systems and applications.
  •  Perform systems administration and database administration in support of tools which are hosted at the APC such as ITSM, System Center Configuration Manager, and System Center Essentials.
  • Perform daily and weekly preventive maintenance on all CONUS Domain Controllers IAW Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) and Standing Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform configuration to meet the security requirements for each platform. Deploy standardized software updates and Army Golden Master (AGM) packages throughout the enterprise.
  •  Employ SYSMAN to determine need for and deploy patches for operating system and application software to USARCC-C managed systems.
  •  Develop and deliver pre-formatted and ad hoc reports, as tasked by the COR, as supported by the SYMAN administration interface.
  • Coordinate with 7th Signal Command (T), 21st, 93rd and 106th Signal Brigades, and NECs to assist sites in pushing Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) updates using SCCM to non-compliant systems, as tasked by the COR, based upon information from 7th Signal Command (T) and USARCC-C leadership.
  • Ensure daily backup of servers and databases onto the Storage Area Network (SAN) and other backup media and ensure data is current, available, and usable. Perform daily backups, implement system upgrades, and verify system configurations, accounts, and passwords conform to baseline standards.
  •  Follow manufacturer's specifications for power and installation to protect equipment, install an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) with each PC and server, and ensure proper connectivity.
  • Perform backups of critical assets, workstations, and servers.
  • Maintain user system accounts for all internal NIPRNet and SIPRNet servers.
  • Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly scheduled network backups; restore data as required to support systems and data recovery due to hardware, software or user error.
  • Perform monthly COOP data recovery backups for approximately 14 managed systems/servers.
  • Prepare backups for off-site storage and provide to the security IAM.
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related discipline.
                       
Required Skills/Qualifications:
  • IT I/IAT II
  • CNA- Security, GICSP, GSEC, Sec+ CE, SSCP or higher
  • Five to seven (5-7) years of practical experience working with Firewalls and/or Bluecoat Proxys.
