Purpose:
The purpose of this task is to support the SYSMAN team, which provides enterprise services in a cutting edge Cyber environment.
Responsibilities:
The Systems Engineer (Networks, Proxy):  
  • Operate, monitor, sustain, and secure EP-DNS servers, to include EP-DNS Team e-mail forwarder, Global Load balancing EP-DNS switches, Lucent Vital QIP EP-DNS servers, Infoblox EP-DNS servers, Hardware Security Modules (HSM), and Web servers.
  •  Monitor the proxies for attempted intrusions of proxied Web sites. Coordinate with installation Network Enterprise Centers (NECs) on router, firewall, and port access.
  • Create and maintain ACLs for all Web proxy servers.
  •  Update forward proxy policy through pre-tested canned scripts or the use of such tools as Bluecoat Director.
  • Ensure network connectivity to all CONUS DCs. Operate, monitor, sustain, and secure four Spectrum servers (2 NIPRNet/2 SIPRNet) using the full capabilities of the Spectrum system (e.g., monitor network assets for availability, report fault conditions, and develop and maintain Spectrum views of all USARCC-C managed assets monitored by Spectrum).
  • Operate, monitor, sustain, and secure two eHealth servers (1 NIPRNet/1 SIPRNet) using the full capabilities of the eHealth system to monitor network bandwidth through the USARCC-C managed enterprise network stacks and report fault conditions.
  • Perform fault management, preventive maintenance, backup/recovery, security administration, and system upgrades.
  • Operate, monitor, sustain, and secure seven Spectrum Main Location Server (MLS) servers (4 NIPRNet/3 SIPRNet) using the full capabilities of the Spectrum MLS system capabilities (e.g., combine network views from multiple Spectrum servers, generate standard reports, provide drill down capabilities into Spectrum event data, and maintain sites views depicting critical nodes.).
  • Operate, monitor, sustain, and secure approximately 160 Spectrum servers located within the CONUS installation NECs maintaining the full capabilities of the Spectrum system capabilities (e.g., monitor network assets for availability, report fault conditions, and maintain Spectrum views of all NEC managed assets monitored by Spectrum).
  • Provide Tier II Spectrum administrator support to the CONUS installation NECs to maintain connectivity between the Tier I Spectrum Servers and the Spectrum Self-Help MLS servers.
  • Configure and maintain Spectrum OneClick Global Collections to allow 7th Sig Cmd (T), 93rd Signal Brigade, 106th Signal Brigade, 21st Signal Brigade, ARCYBER and 2nd Army visibility of all network assets monitored by Spectrum within the CONUS Theater.
  •  Configure and maintain Spectrum OneClick Views that allow NEC's and Brigades visibility of all critical nodes within their area of responsibility (AOR). Operate, monitor, sustain, and secure 49 CNEP SIPRNet regional node centers inclusive of Spectrum Probe, Netbackup, eHealth, Spectrum, Computer Associates Business Intelligence (CABI), One Click, and the Theater node which includes the Main Location Servers (MLS) (122 SIPRNet) using the full capabilities of each component.
  •  Operate, monitor, sustain, and secure 9 Storage Area Networks (SANs) that store the event data for each of the regional nodes, and the Theater node. 
  • Provide Tier II Spectrum and eHealth administrator support to the CONUS installation NECs to maintain connectivity to the MLS and eHealth servers.
  • Configure and maintain Spectrum OneClick Global Collections to allow 7th Sig Cmd (T), 93rd Signal Brigade, 106th Signal Brigade, 21st Signal Brigade, ARCYBER and 2nd Army visibility of all network assets monitored by Spectrum within the CONUS Theater.
  •  Configure and maintain Spectrum OneClick Views that allow NEC's and 21st, 93rd, and 106th Signal Brigades visibility of all critical nodes within their area of responsibility (AOR). Internal Tools Support. Operate, monitor, secure, and sustain current and future USARCC-C managed internal tools, such as ACS, NetScout, Tivoli NetCool, Tivoli Impact, Tivoli Omnibus, Activu, Quest, and BNA.
  • Add, upgrade, and delete tools using the Change Management process.
  • Proactively evaluate existing tools to identify efficiencies in their use, and maximize the utility in the CONUS environment.
  • Provide on-call support 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related discipline.
                       
Required Skills/Qualifications:
  • IT I/CND-IS; IAT II
  • CCNA, CCDA, CISSP, MCSE, MCITP Enterprise Administrator.
  • Sec+ CE or higher
  • HS +8 years’ experience, or AA/AS +4, or BS/BA +2
