Overall Summary

As a SharePoint Administrator for our SOCPAC Team, the candidate will use his/her expertise in Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007 and SharePoint Server 2010 to develop and administer information sharing portals. This position is in support of a Department of Defense (DoD) organization OCONUS in Hawaii.

The candidate must be able to communicate clearly and succinctly both written and orally, and present products and ideas in a business-like manner. The candidate will be required to work in dynamic fast paced environments that require team interaction and coordination of efforts. The candidate must be experienced in interfacing with both client managers and system users and will report directly to the Task Order Lead. The Requirement Analyst/SharePoint Portal Administrator will be responsible for: - Requirements Gathering and Definition Support for web-based systems - Functional Design - System Performance Testing - Supporting the equipment lifecycle from the functional perspective - Participate in sessions to define the solution approaches, and identifying assumptions, constraints, risks and issues. - Define users and system interfaces - Work with SMEs to develop the intended functional Requirements - Refine requirements (use-cases) to detailed level appropriate for technical analysis and system design - Write and manage the detail design, review with Portal Web Developer, clarify any questions or issues, and present to to the Government for approval and implementation. The Requirement Analyst/SharePoint Portal Administrator will be responsible for designing and, along with the Portal Web Developer, maintaining portal environment and web pages for the supported organization’s SharePoint presence on government proprietary networks (JWICS, SIPRNET, CENTRIX and NIPRNET). 

This person shall comply with the Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program (DoD 8570) and must possess the required Information Assurance (IA) baseline certifications commensurate with their assigned duty position as determined by the government.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Experience administering SharePoint farms.
  • Experience with the following versions of SharePoint (2007, 2010 and 2013)
  • Monitor operations of a network or an environment of servers on which a cluster of specific applications operate. Track and research business solutions running in this environment in terms of efficient performance or obstacles to smooth production.
  • Troubleshoot more difficult or complex production slowdowns or bottlenecks and determine if OS environment or network is causing problem.
  • Document standard operation of systems in assigned network or environment; document measures taken to patch or upgrade OS and testing done to ensure continued smooth production.
  • Maintain or perform system upgrades, including installing up to date patches and service packs. Serve on larger projects involving team resources as a key technical resources
  • May control or manage system access; train and support users (fellow team members).
  • Support system users including device, configuration, and monitoring requests from users.
  • Provide work guidance or technical assistance to less senior engineers
  • May provide written technical descriptions and contribute in the development of technical solutions in support of SOCPAC initiatives
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture
  • Ensure compliance with all IA Policies and Procedures.

  • Willing to travel to various sites throughout the Pacific Theater.

Basic Qualifications
  • 5 years’ experience in hands-on experience with the deployment, configuration, and implementation of Microsoft SharePoint (MOSS 2007).
  • Provides technical guidance and leadership to personnel with less experience
  • Expertise in SharePoint 2007 MOSS and SharePoint Server 2010 administration, development, and training
  • Experience in SharePoint Designer 2007 and 2010 and SharePoint 2007 and/or 2010 Central Administration
  • Expertise in Content Types, Taxonomy, SharePoint Search, Information Management Policies
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; shows tact, effective listening skills and follow through
  • Detail oriented and organized; able to understand information systems and ensure accuracy of work
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems or inadequacies of web development and web processes
  • Ability to own and resolve complex SharePoint system problems, engaging necessary teams as required.
  • Knowledge in administration, configuration & customization of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS 2007) and Windows SharePoint Services.
  • Experience with InfoPath Forms Design & XML
  • COMPTIA Security + Certification
  • Ability to obtain IAT II certification(s) in accordance with DoD 8570.1
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Candidates selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.   Candidates with a Top Secret Clearance required.
Additional Desirable Skills and Knowledge
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, computer science, information technology or related science field is preferred.
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MSCE)
  • ITIL v3 Certification
  • Working experience with VMware ESX server virtualization
  • 2 years’  experience with Microsoft SQL server
