Purpose:
This task order will provide SWEG the ability to train Special Forces, Civil Affairs and Military Information Support soldiers in support of Special Forces Regimental operational requirements.  Contracted personnel shall provide Educational support to adult learner Special Operations student soldiers attending the United States Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and provide instruction in adaptive thinking education and training to enhance ARSOF Soldiers ability to: think and solve problems in unconventional ways; maintain composure while responding to or adjusting one’s own thinking and actions to fit a changing environment; recognize, understand, and navigate within multiple social networks; and proactively shape the environment or circumstances in anticipation of desired outcomes.  
  • Use operational vignettes and scenario based practical exercises that are open-ended and ambiguous with a range of potential solutions, challenging ARSOF Soldiers to explore options and develop creative and novel approaches.
  • Develop and provide education and training in negotiation and mediation techniques to include aspects of negotiations in a joint, interagency, intergovernmental, and multinational environment.
  • Provide training to individuals and groups utilizing general adult learning techniques focused on acquiring and applying adaptability and leadership skills/techniques.
  • Teach and or develop instruction materials in leadership education and doctrine. Implement changes based on operational needs, new or emerging doctrine or practices.
  • Assist with the development or provides overview briefings to VIPs and high-ranking leaders when required.
  • Accomplish special projects that frequently involve instruction and education matters, but may be outside the employee's specialty area.
  • Serves as the head of a working group or integrated concept team comprised of cross-functional personnel.
  • Instructs planning, development, and implementation of Adaptive Thinking and Leadership subject matter to include: complex development and presentation dilemmas based on psychological, engagements, and negotiations theory and application, as well as future instruction initiatives.
  • Computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office software to include PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills; able to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work well within a team environment; must possess effective interpersonal skills.
  • Work will periodically require operating temporarily in a field environment observing ARSOF Soldiers; may be exposed to a variety of weather conditions and extreme temperatures ranging from the upper 120s degrees Fahrenheit in the daytime to the lower 20s degrees Fahrenheit at night.
  • May be required to conduct movement by land, sea or air via Military/Commercial fixed or rotary wing aircraft, waterborne craft, or ground transport in support of unit training in assigned core supporting tasks. 
 
Education and Certifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree (BS or BA) from a college that is regionally accredited.
 
Knowledge and Experience:
  • At least 10 years military experience within Army Special Operations Forces, to include OCONUS deployments (combat and noncombat) in austere environments.
  • Must have at least one (1) years’ practical experience in negotiations engagements or cross-cultural communications in large small and individual audiences in classroom and field environments under adverse conditions.
  • Must have at least one (1) years’ experience as an instructor or graduate assistant in an academic setting (military or civilian) with groups of up to 100 individuals.
  • Must physically be able to walk on patrols over uneven, rocky, sandy, and/or wooded terrain crossing water obstacles up to waist high; in all weather conditions; during night, day, and low visibility periods; in areas where normal office equipment, restroom, and wash facilities are not available.
  • Must be physically capable of carrying a small pack of up to 15 pounds during field environment while observing cadre and Soldiers.
  • Must be willing and able to be transported in government provided field ground vehicles and/or military aviation.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
