Purpose:
The IDST will be based on a hub and spoke concept of operations with analysts permanently positioned or on Temporary Duty (TDY) status at the USSOCOM HQ, TSOC, Component Commands, Special Operations Joint Task Forces (SOJTF), Combined Joint Special Operations Task Forces (CJSOTF), Special Operations Task Forces (SOTF), and Special Operations Command Forward Elements (SOCFWD). The IDST contractors/analysts will vary in skill sets ranging from Data Scientists to Data Integrators and will provide support to IDST leadership during recurring planning events, customer requirement discussions, and capability development in line with their respective positional technical requirements. IDST contractors will operate and conduct analysis on SOFNET-U, SOFNET-S, JIANT, SOIS, SOCRATES, NSAnet, and in some cases on the commercial internet.
Responsibilities:
Write and maintain documentation of the data integration processes.
Work with Intelligence Analysts, IDST members, and data owners to understand data requirements and support technical requirements capture and solution development.
Communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing with IDST members, customers, and leadership.
Develop standards, designs, data maps; developing and modifying functions, programs, routines, and stored procedures to export, transform and load data.
Knowledgeable of the various tools that support SOF intelligence analysis, data sources relevant to the needs of the analyst, and the tradecraft associated with SOF intelligence analysis.
Have a thorough understanding of the SOF customer's intelligence process and analysis tradecraft to compile, collate, analyze, produce, and evaluate all-source intelligence and support the Ops-Intel fusion process.
Provide technical support in development and execution of data extraction, transformation, and load activities.
Collaborate with IT to design and model application data structures, storage and integration in accordance with enterprise-wide architecture standards across legacy, web, and cloud and purchased package environments.
Developing and executing test plans and scenarios including data design, tool design, data extract/transform, networks, and hardware.
Use data science techniques and methodologies to identify capabilities and vulnerabilities of targeted enemy organizations, identify trends and patterns detected in data experiments, highlighting their relationships to the targeted enemy networks.
Assist with data warehouse initiatives.
Provide training on IDST developed capabilities to intelligence analysts.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
Possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree in a computer science discipline, or equivalent with six years' experience in the Special Operations intelligence community, providing services similar in required tasks, scope, and complexity OR no degree and eight years' experience providing services similar in required tasks, scope, and complexity.
Current DoD Top Secret clearance and eligible for SCI access and ACCM read-on.
