IT Technician/PC Technician

Purpose:  Responsible for maintaining, analyzing, troubleshooting and repairing personal computer systems, hardware, software, computer peripherals, and AV equipment. The IT Technician shall assist employees via remote access, phone, or in person. May also mentor or train other Desktop Support. 

Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
  • Installing, configuring and maintaining desktop and laptop PCs, mobile devices and peripherals, such as printers.
  • Installing and configuring application and operating system software and upgrades.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving complex issues.
  • Working with other teams to identify root causes of issues and their resolution.
  • Multiple device configuration including personal device support and configuration.
  • Removing old equipment and performing data migration to new machines.
  • Analyzing user needs for business applications. Researching alternatives and proposing solutions.
  • Coordinating hardware and software system installation and ensuring specifications are met.
  • Creating and maintaining thorough documentation for all desktop solutions and troubleshooting instructions in the Knowledge base.
  • Working with hardware and software vendors to verify timely product delivery and ensuring that new equipment is installed and ready to operate on schedule.
  • Analyzing and making recommendations for hardware and software standardization.
  • Creating (provision) and maintain mobile devices (NIPR, SIPR and Gray).
  • Scheduling, administering, and troubleshooting video teleconference (VTC) suites
  • Providing a monthly summary report of actions taken under this Task Order.
General Requirements:
  • Shall have excellent problem-solving and customer service skills, as well as extensive experience with desktop hardware, software applications, operating systems and network connectivity. 
  • Shall be customer service-oriented and proactive in anticipating and resolving problems while maximizing efficient use of computing resources.  
  • Possess a valid state driver’s license.
  • Shall be able to operate a Personal Computer (PC) with common/standard business software programs.  This includes proficiency in Microsoft Office applications to include Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. All contractor personnel shall be capable of performing data entry on computers utilizing current versions of the Microsoft suite of software programs. 
  • Shall possess an excellent work ethic, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be detailed and accurate in performing all administrative and routine functions. 
  • Shall be able to work in an environment that is fastpaced while completing multiple tasks, and meeting stringent timelines. 
  • Shall maintain a clean workspace.
Job Specific Knowledge/Requirements:
  • Have a minimum of five years of previous experience working as a PC Technician.
  • Have an Information Assurance Technician, Level II (IAT II) certification.
  • Have a Windows Server 2016 certification OR Microsoft 365 Certified Modern Desktop Administrator certification. 
  • Experience in implementation and administration of infrastructure services like FTP, IIS, DNS, DHCP, and GPOs
  • Have a valid and current Security + CE certification
