PTP is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer on a project supporting the Office of Local Defense Community Cooperation (OLDCC) in the Department of Defense (DoD). The work location for this effort is in the Crystal City neighborhood of Arlington, VA.
The Lead Systems Engineer will provide expertise in the design, implementation, configuration, and optimization of OLDCC IT systems on the Unclassified (NIPRNet) and Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure. The Lead Systems Engineer shall have the ability to apply technical knowledge of operating systems, applications, AWS GovCloud and utilities to the OLDCC environment. Evaluate and determine computing resource requirements for ongoing and future OLDCC projects. Duties for this position include, but are not limited to:
Engineer, design, install, configure, and optimize IT systems.
Develop new SmartSimple GMS360° workflows and reconfigure existing ones.
Provide system and engineering support for documented and approved projects and tasks.
Ensure all engineered solutions are in compliance with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), DoD and OLDCC policies and standards.
Ensure engineered solutions are designed to maintain including highest performance, capacity, availability, service dependability, and recoverability
Maintain existing and, as required, develop new documentation that will include but is not limited to SOPs and System Architecture Guides and Diagrams adhering to organizational templates, policies, and standards.
Perform root cause analysis of critical outage and incidents, engineer permanent solutions, and coordinate implementation.
Support the OLDCC CIO during requirement analysis to develop technical solution options.
Provide OLDCC management proposed configurations, optimizations, and system improvement plans.
Work with the OLDCC CIO to establish and meet project milestones and deliverables. Ensure all solutions meet documented customer requirements and are within project scope.
Follow all OLDCC Change Management and Engineering Review processes. Ensure changes are completed according to the release schedule.
Engineer and design hardware solutions as required to ensure capacity and availability of OLDCC services.
Engineer, install, configure, optimize, support and design solutions that incorporate DoD security requirements such as Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and cybersecurity services.
Perform duties as a Project Lead. Develop task lists for other technical staff (System Engineer & Information Assurance), assist the OLDCC CIO with project documentation, maintain project status in the OLDCC task tracker tracking system, and ensure milestones are identified and met.
Meet OLDCC established service level metrics (Section 3.12).
Prepare and respond to Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ) Cybersecurity audits adhering to the Evaluator Scoring Metrics (ESM)
Minimum Basic Requirements for Skills, Experience, Education and Credentials for the Lead Systems Engineer include:
At least 5-10 years providing technical support required.
Prior DoD Experience preferred. Evidence of strong analytical skills related to the design, development, and integration of hardware, software, interfaces and all system level requirements to provide an integrated IT solution is required.
Commercial cloud experience required.
Must satisfy 8140.01-M IAT level II training requirements which require one or more of the following certifications, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Security Plus, Security +, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, or other approved qualifying 8140.01 certification.
At last three years’ experience configuring SmartSimple GMS360° and developing new workflows.
Additional relevant certifications preferred.
