Purpose:People, Technology and Processes, LLC is seeking a Visual Communications Specialist to provide services for NORAD and USNORTHCOM Public Affairs, working directly in the Public Affairs Strategic Outreach and Command Information (PA 4/9) division. The services include performing work involved in communicating information through visual means. Required support includes the design and display of visual materials such as photographs, videos, illustrations, diagrams, graphs, objects, models, slides, and charts used in books, magazines, pamphlets, exhibits, live or video recorded speeches or lectures and other means of communicating. *****THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON AWRD*****
Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
Create video and other visual materials such as photographs, illustrations, models, and specimens to be used in the communication of information; design the placement and appearance of visual materials; design the placement of text in relation to art; decide type styles and typographical effects; and plan effective use of color schemes, textures, and shapes considering the technical constraints of a particular method of communication (i.e., printed publication, video, exhibit, or oral presentation).
Provide support to the graphics department, to include design and layout for N&NC publications, briefs, infographics, presentations, and other materials, taking into consideration design elements such as scale, color, images, typography, and formatting to improve visual presentations.
Use graphic and image editing software to crop, edit and re-size video, as well as selects, procures, or develops photo images or the most appropriate graphics and/or visual materials for digital and print products.
Partner with authors/editors/customers to ensure the design and layout of the selected video materials reflects the intended tone and message of the content aligns with the aesthetic preference, recommending changes as appropriate to better suit the presentation and audience of the materials presented.
Use digital and multimedia products to record events and edit segments for online posting or for printed publications. Partners with training and subject matter specialists to create training and instructional videos and develops graphics and audio elements for insertion into the final multimedia products.
Provide support and technical guidance to the government graphics civilians related to planning print projects, to include cost effectiveness, development, formatting, and selecting type styles and sizes.
Develop video training materials, as well as any support to the graphics civilians, as directed by the Chief of Strategic Outreach and Command Information. The division chief will determine needs and requirements pertaining to training materials. Contractor is expected to train with others in the use of videography, authoring and multimedia software and techniques, as needed.
Plan, organize and carry out the videography information aspects of N&NC’s Public Affairs Program in support of Government personnel, which requires long-range planning, participating in the development of the program with management officials, selecting the means of communication to be used and determining where emphasis should be placed, and resources should be used.
Design, develop, and produce video/multimedia products that incorporate video, still, sound/voice, music, and text into a final product, approved by the division chief. Contractor is also responsible for support to the graphics department, to include the design of operational maps, signage, web-based graphics, presentation products, pamphlets and ceremony products as deemed necessary by the division chief.
Film, edit, and produce videos and photos from work order requests or verbal orders from PA leadership approved by the division chief. Products should capture a variety of focal lengths in order to fully show the entirety of the mission complexity and scope. Events include, but are not limited to: DV events, ceremonies, group photos, broadcast recordings, and virtual events.
Job Specific Knowledge & Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Web Design, UI/UX, or a related field.
5 years of experience in graphic design, visual design, and art direction for digital platforms
Experience in illustration, iconography design, animation and/or motion graphics desirable
3-5 years’ experience in communications
5 years of experience in visual content creation and digital marketing
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (PowerPoint, SharePoint, Word, Excel, Teams)
Background in photography with at least hobbyist level skills required
1-2 years photography experience preferred
Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite
SECRET Security Clearance.
