General Purpose of the Position:
 
Exciting opportunity to become a part of a growing team supporting critical defense missions! Our team is looking for an entry level Business Development Intern who can contribute and support staff across a full range of Business Development activities. He or she will be supporting the development and execution of strategies to identify, market, and capture opportunities in the Defense market. This involves market analysis and research, marketing activities, and customer and stakeholder communications. As opportunities materialize, the Developer is responsible for working in a support capacity with a Senior Developer and a cross-functional team to complete a variety of objectives that may range from supporting the development of win strategies, technical writing solutions, creative optics, and organization and coordination of capture and proposal activities. This is an entry level opportunity and both internal and external training will be provided to support professional growth in this position.

Responsibilities:
Administrative support responsibilities may include assisting Senior Developers with planning support, capture support, management and governance of proposal processes, monitoring and controlling proposal activities. Through your career progression you will learn to:
  • Identify and assess business opportunities and support pipeline development and maintenance
  • Create and manage contact plans
  • Assist with tracking opportunities and updating the opportunity database
  • Develop proposal production plans
  • Organize and support team milestones, events, and activities
  • Provide coordination, planning, tracking, and status of project activities
  • Represent the organization in meetings, conferences and workshops, as assigned
  • Design and develop marketing plans, messaging, and materials for a variety of audiences
  • Review the Request for Proposal (RFP) and identify proposal deliverables
  • Design and development of proposal optics that result in compliant templates and graphics
  • Provide high-quality proposal writing, editing, and production support on Federal/DoD proposals
  • Maintain configuration management of all artifacts
  • Integrate graphics and format documents for color reviews, preparing PDF review copies, and merging reviewers’ comments; preparing documents for final management review; coordinating final document production including final formatting, preparing tabs, and printing; preparing electronic copies; and supporting boxing and shipping
  • Final production activities resulting in compliant, complete, and compelling deliverables. These activities include requirements review, editing, formatting, graphics creation, compliance reviews, final production, quality reviews, packaging, and delivery.
 
Formal Education/Certifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or majoring in a Business related field.

Required Knowledge & Experience:
  • Desire and ability to learn

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe
  • Proven ability to prioritize and balance multiple, sometimes changing priorities in a team environment
  • Effective planning and organizational skills; initiative, and the ability to drive convergence and resolution to challenges
