Purpose:The purpose of this task is to provide support toUnited States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) provides sustainment support to the Command’s Resource Management Administrative. Specifically, Garrison support for travel related customer services affecting the overall command operational readiness contract located at Virginia Beach, VA.
Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
Provide support to administrative tasks such as: book commercial air, rental cars and hotels in a Global Distribution System (GDS), such as Sabre, in accordance with government regulations and contracted fares. Write Temporary Assigned Duty (TAD) orders in Travel Processing and Automated Examination system (TPAX) and Defense Travel System (DTS).
Responsible for booking, issuing, and exchange complex international or domestic airline tickets in a Global Distribution System (GDS).
Coordinate and process travel orders including no cost, order modifications, amendments, and Invitation Travel Authorizations (ITA) using a government writing system Automated Examination system (TPAX) and Defense Travel System (DTS).
Assist military and civilians with flight reservations, changes, reissues, add-collects and refunds of commercial air, rental car and hotel reservations in GDS and bills on appropriate IBA or Centrally Billed Account (CBA).
Contact military and civilian employees and discuss entitlements, city pairs, airline routing, hotel availability and rental car issues for commercial and government air arrangements.
Route for approval recommended reconciliation of airline tickets utilizing GDS reporting tool.
Expertise knowledge of transportation entitlements such as the Fly America Act, U.S. Government Truck and Car Programs and travel regulation such as the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) and Financial Management Regulations (FMR).
Liaison with Disbursing Department to assist with reconciliation of vouchers in particular reimbursement of commercial airfares.
Route for approval recommended obligation of travel orders according to regulations and provide accurate cost estimates to command members.
Shall possess expert knowledge of military duty locations and airport city codes.
Required to maintain electronic recall capability and be on call as directed. Contractor personnel shall initially respond immediately telephonically to the Government's emergency request for after duty hour support.
Must track and log overtime (OT) hours and provide log to the ACOR and post to the command portal the following working day after each instance of on-call work is completed.
Requirements General:
Possess a valid state driver's license.
Be able to operate a Personal Computer (PC) with common/standard business software programs.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications to include Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Communicate clearly and effectively with others, both verbally and in writing.
Enter data into multiple databases accurately.
Possess a SECRET Security Clearance
Able to work in an environment that is fast paced, completing multiple tasks, and meeting stringent timelines.
Must exhibit courteous, polite, professional behavior and appearance always.
Job Specific Knowledge and Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years of experience at a travel agency or a major airline using the SABRE or Global Distribution System (GDS).
Minimum of three (3) years technical experience with DOD travel procedures. (Desired)
Familiar with common document types utilized by the DOD disbursing enterprise. (Desired)
Shall be equivalent to a SME for command AT Specialist.
